Chinese RV makers need every opportunity to get exposure in the emerging RV market. Exhibiting at auto shows, gaining celebrity endorsement, appearing at high profile events... RV makers use these opportunities to grab attention and promote RVs. At the recent Shanghai International Film Festival, Zhongou, as one of the event sponsors, provided "limo" services to the stars and celebrities, including American actress Halle Berry and Hollywood film director John Woo. Instead of the usual stretch limos, the stars were riding Zhongou's Mercedes/Sprinter based Class Bs to the award ceremony. The photo opp when stars arrived really help the RVs shine.
China's RV industry, for a while, has been in a stop-and-go mode. Minimum industry standards, lack of campgrounds, unclear status with towable RVs, and lack of public awareness of the RV lifestyle all contributed to the situation. Things began to improve since April of last year when government established a RV task force to look into standards and traffic laws. High profile events certainly help. China also needs programs similar to "Go RVing" or the recent NBC reality show series "Great American Road Trip" to help promote RVs. |
